5 Things You Need to Know About Hair Growth

Drink plenty of water

Drinking a sufficient amount of water will support hair growth and moisturize your hair. Water helps to regulate the circulatory system, which then feeds the hair follicles. This causes hair growth. If your roots are deficient in moisture, your hair will eventually become brittle. This halts hair growth.

Use the right shampoo

A lot of shampoos on the market can be harsh due to their ingredients. This is definitely bad news for African American hair. Kinky, coily hair types need to be extra careful about which shampoo they use. Seek out shampoos that contain organic oils. The oils will combat dryness and leave your hair feeling healthy and soft. Jojoba oil and argan are organic oils which promote hair growth.

Pay attention to hair ends

Visit a hair professional to clean up hair ends every three to four months. This will rid hair of any split ends and encourage hair growth. When hair ends are in tip-top shape, hair will grow properly without damage. Only a 1/2 inch, at most, needs to be trimmed.

Air dry when possible

After shampooing your hair, the best way to dry it is by blotting it gently with an old tee shirt. Avoid using the blow dryer as the excess heat can weaken your hair. If you must use your blow dryer, use the coolest setting. A silk scarf can also be wrapped around the hair and left to dry overnight.

Take fish oil supplements

Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are very beneficial to hair growth. These supplements are especially good at combating dryness and dullness. Hair will become more radiant, softer, and stronger. Fish oil can also help prevent dandruff.

In conclusion, hair growth will undoubtedly be boosted if these tips are followed consistently.

Three Hair Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

cf041318e29736b993ef8c4728f2bb36What isn’t apple cider vinegar good for? Weight loss, skin, female issues, etc. Apple cider vinegar has long been used as a natural hair care product to promote healthy hair in both men and woman. Its acidity is close to that of natural hair, it’s a good conditioner and cleaning agent and it’s also an effective germ killer.

Benefits for the hair include:

1.Vinegar hair rinse. Hair is on the mildly acidic side of the pH scale and has an ideal pH of 4.5 to 5.5, which is close to that of an apple cider vinegar rinse (pH 2.9). On the other hand, many of the hair care products we use, such as soap-based shampoos, bleaches, hair colors, and permanents are strongly alkaline. Rinsing with apple cider vinegar will help balance the pH of your hair and remove the buildup that can result from the use of these styling products and inexpensive shampoos.

2. Dandruff and itchy scalp relief. The acids and enzymes in acv kill the bottle bacillus, a bacteria that is one of the causes for many scalp and hair conditions such as dandruff, itchy scalp, hair loss and often baldness. The bacteria clogs hair follicles allowing dry crusts to form that itch and flake. For a simple home treatment for dandruff and itchy scalp, apply full strength acv to the scalp, rub in, and leave on for a half hour to an hour before washing your hair.

3.Natural hair loss treatment. For bald and thinning areas apply to scalp an hour before shampooing- 2 Tbsp acv mixed with a tiny pinch cayenne powder.
Then before going to bed, mix a royal jelly capsule with one tsp acv, pat on bald areas and leave overnight.d24c7af582dbce7828ebed6a2eef8fab

The following herbs have also been used to prevent hair loss and stimulate hair growth:

  • Burdock
  • Catnip
  • Chamomile
  • Lavender
  • Rosemary
  • Saw Palmetto
  • Thyme
  • Yucca

Grow On Girl!

So many woman are obsessed with hair growth. I think I have done several blogs already pertaining to this topic. Here are some old school tips I have heard here & there. They involve food items they you may have in your kitchen.
Vinegar slows hair loss and promotes new
growth. It also balances the pH of your scalp. It has been shown to thicken hair and remove dead skin cells that can clog follicles and hurt your hair’s ability to grow. Use it as a  rinse after shampooing. Just make sure that you rinse the vinegar out your hair well & use a nice smelling conditioner. Don’t want you smellin like douche.

Heres another smelly concoction: Onions!

Add minced onion to your shampoo. Let it marinate in your shampoo for a few days. Then use the shampoo regularly. Not only will it accelerate hair growth but it will give your hair shine. Again, rinse your hair WELL after this & use a good smelling conditioner. I’d let that conditioner sit on for a few lol.

Next time you make some potatoe salad, save that water from the potatoes.

Let it cool, and rinse your hair with it. This rinse accelerates hair growth.
