2. Avoid using extreme heat on your hair to style. When possible try to avoid heat all together. Use other methods of achieving curls and style settings like magnetic rollers, wet setting and curlformers. Heat should NOT be used everyday of the week. If you are going to blow dry your hair make sure it’s partially dry and turn the heat to medium. Just remember too much heat is damaging. 033622d29792dd3ca09329be4486d8f8

Short Hair,I Care!

A short hair cut can take you from mild to WILD. But not everyone knows how to properly care for a shorter style. Does your short style only look great a few days after your hair appointment? Here are some tips that your hair stylist may have never told you. . . . .

✱Use styling gel & a fine tooth comb to lay down sides & hair in the back. It’s best to do this before going to bed. When you unwrap your hair in the morning, just spray on a lil oil sheen. Viola !

✱ Get trims every 2 – 3 weeks. Usually short styles get unruly when they start to grow out. So stay on top of those trims!

✱Relax the sides & back of your hair as needed. It will show new growth before the longer areas will.

5 Benefits Of A Short Haircut

Short haircuts are as sexy as they are easy! Here are 5 reasons why:

1. You will use less product.

Products to be used for short hair such as shampoo, hair conditioners, gel etc. are needed in small amounts. To style this look on Monica, I would have used only two products. This style could have been spiked & curled with paul mitchell spray wax. A shine spray would have been used afterward. WALLA! That’s it!
2. Less styling time.
You will not have to spend much time washing short hair and the time required for a hair style is also less.
3. Instant style swag!
A BIG part of amber rose’s appeal & brand,is her buzz cut. Its’s kinda hard to have a short cut & look dowdy. HMmm could that be because you can’t whip it into a ponytail??
4. Healthier hair!
Short hair is always being trimmed & pruned. Split ends don’t have a chance to develop. There is always fresh new hair on display. The longer your hair is, the older it is.
5. You look younger
A short style can give your face a lift instead of dragging down your features. Short dos open up your entire face and draws attention to your eyes and smile!

Growing Out Your Summer Cut

Are you wrestling with that (once fly) hair cut you got earlier this summer? I know its hard! I have been there and have given up many times and re-cut my hair in utter frustration! Here are some tips and pictures to help you endure the growing out phase so you won’t get trapped.

✂Keep hair healthy. Shampooing too often gets rid of natural oils that help keep your hair healthy.

Fantasia Barrino in 2006.Spikes and flips camouflage the shabby appearance of a grown out cut.

✂Conditioner is your BEST FRIEND! Let it sit in for at least 15 minutes everytime you shower, this helps keep your ends from splitting.

MONICA on the red carpet at the 2nd Annual BET Honors. Wear hair slicked down and straight. You will be relying heavily on styling products during the growing out phase.Stock on gels, hair spray, etc.
Selita Ebanks

✂Be careful when getting a trim.Find a stylist who understands how to cut a style that’s growing out. They should trim as little as possible to get the length you want FASTER.The trim will keep your hair shaped up (neat looking) and also eliminate split ends.

Raven Symone. Get you a clip in ponytail.Ponytails and updo’s also help you to stay away from the scissors.
Kim Kardashian. Pompaudour updo. This look can be acheived with a clip in ponytail or half a wig.
